Having been closed for 18 months, and with locals fearing that it had been lost for good, The Pink and Lily in Lacey Green reopened in July 2013. Having been bought outright by a local family, The Pink is going back to its roots as a friendly, quality local; muddy boots, muddy families and muddy (well behaved!) dogs welcome! The pub has had a facelift, although the charm and character of the original 300-year-old historic building, where World War One poet Rupert Brooke was a well-known regular, has been retained. It serves great food and great beer and the garden has had an extensive overhaul and now provides heated outdoor dining and a play area for children, as well as a barbecue for those lazy summer weekends. With a selection of real ales on tap, as well as a great wine list and a wide range of lagers, ciders and spirits, a stunning new menu and an exciting indoor games room for both adults and children, The Pink looks forward to welcoming all comers.
